Volleyball Game Preview: Del Oro Golden Eagles vs. Whitney Wildcats + How To Watch

The Del Oro Golden Eagles will challenge the Whitney Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Whitney took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Del Oro, who comes in off a win.

Del Oro not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 17th (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against Granite Bay as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won four in a row.

Del Oro not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Granite Bay between 18 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19, 25-20.

Del Oro had a senior duo take command as Lily Smith had ten digs and four assists and Gia Hoffman had seven digs and two aces. Smith has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played.

Meanwhile, Whitney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Rocklin, falling 3-0.

Whitney was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23, 25-13.

Whitney's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Del Oro, their victory bumped their record up to 20-4.

Everything went Del Oro's way against Whitney when the teams last played back in September, as Del Oro made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Golden Eagles repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
