Flag Football Game Preview: Edwardsville Tigers vs. Belleville East Lancers

Two dominant signal callers in Ella Wallace and Deasia Willis are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Edwardsville Tigers will square off against the Belleville East Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Edwardsville sitting on eight straight wins and Belleville East on three.

Edwardsville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They took down Mahomet-Seymour 28-12. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois flag football rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 71st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Belleville East got themselves on the board against Danville on Tuesday, but Danville never followed suit. They blew past the Vikings, posting a 27-0 victory. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Belleville East's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Edwardsville, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1.

Edwardsville didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Belleville East in their previous meeting two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 19-13 win. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
