Baseball Game Preview: River City Raiders vs. Pioneer Patriots

The River City Raiders are taking a road trip to face off against the Pioneer Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Pioneer will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: River City extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday. The Raiders walked away with a 10-5 victory over Liberty Ranch.

The team relied heavily on Tanner Mayberry, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Patrick Johnston was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Pioneer had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 15-1 win.

River City's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Pioneer, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.

River City came out on top in a nail-biter against Pioneer when the teams last played back in March of 2022, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
