Softball Recap: Caverna Takes a Loss

Caverna fell victim to Adair County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Indians, falling 10-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Colonels in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost five in a row.

Adreana Salvador spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and seven unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

Caverna's record now sits at 13-16. As for Adair County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-13.

Coming up, Caverna will face off against Campbellsville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.09 runs per game on average), something the Colonels will no doubt try to take advantage of. Adair County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
