Baseball Game Preview: Point Pleasant Boro Panthers vs. Freehold Boro Colonials

The Point Pleasant Boro Panthers will square off against the Freehold Boro Colonials at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Point Pleasant Boro is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Point Pleasant Boro managed to slip by Howell the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Panthers lost 9-2 to the Rebels on Thursday.

Point Pleasant Boro saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Carmino, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. James Bradley also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Freehold Boro ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Manalapan 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Point Pleasant Boro's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Freehold Boro, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 7-9.
