Volleyball Recap: Wapsie Valley's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Wapsie Valley lost against Western Dubuque back in September of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Warriors fell 2-0 to the Bobcats. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Wapsie Valley was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-14.

Their offense was headlined by Taylor Buhr and Taylor Schneider, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Tessa Brunscheon and her 15 assists. Buhr was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Wapsie Valley's loss dropped their record down to 19-10. As for Western Dubuque, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Wapsie Valley is on the road again on Saturday to play Mt. Vernon at 2:00 p.m. As for Western Dubuque, they will square off against Waverly-Shell Rock at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
