Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Indian Extends Winning Streak to Six

Robertson typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Santa Fe Indian proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 61-55 win over the Robertson Cardinals. Winning may never get old, but the Braves sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Leading Santa Fe Indian to victory were Toni Riley and Emma Lewis. Riley posted 15 points, while Lewis scored 15 points. Those 15 points gave Riley a new career-high. Danielle Smith was another key player, putting up nine points.

Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Natalia Martinez, who put up 15 points and six assists. Thanks to that strong game, Martinez now owns an excellent 41.4% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Alyxa King-Greenwalt, who had ten points and eight rebounds.

Santa Fe Indian's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points over those games. As for Robertson, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.

Santa Fe Indian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 43-41 loss against West Las Vegas on the 6th. As for Robertson, they have also already played their next matchup, a 68-54 win against Moriarty on the 6th.
