Baseball Game Preview: Willow Springs Bears vs. Hartville Eagles

The Willow Springs Bears will venture away from home to square off against the Hartville Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Willow Springs has given up an average of 7.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Willow Springs fell victim to Alton and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 11-0 to the Comets. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Hartville made sure to put some runs up on the board against Van Buren on Saturday. The Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Bulldogs 11-10. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by just one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Hartville and bumps their season record up to 13-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Willow Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Willow Springs skirted past Hartville 5-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
