Basketball Recap: Mount Vernon Comes Up Short

Mount Vernon lost to Annandale back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Majors took a 49-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Atoms.

Mount Vernon has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Annandale, their record now sits at 9-13.

Looking ahead, Mount Vernon will look to defend their home court on Friday against Edison at 7:15 p.m. The Majors will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.9 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Annandale, they will challenge Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
