Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Adams

Adams hadn't done well against North Mesquite recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cougars walked away with a 14-10 victory over the Stallions. The win was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on three straight.

Adams got a massive performance out of Olivia Melendez, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave Melendez a new career-high in doubles (two). Birch Burns also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

The victory got Adams back to even at 8-8. As for North Mesquite, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 15 of their last 18 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season.

Adams will welcome Samuell at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Mesquite, they will head out to face off against West Mesquite at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Stallions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wranglers have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
