Volleyball Recap: San Marcos Academy Comes Up Short

San Marcos Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Central Texas Christian Lions. The Bears were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

San Marcos Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-16, 25-22.

Among those leading the charge was Meredith Turner, who had seven digs and four aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last six games. Jenna Armstrong also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

San Marcos Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6-1. As for Central Texas Christian, they pushed their record up to 26-3-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Marcos Academy will host San Juan Diego Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central Texas Christian, they will challenge Austin Royals HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
