Recap: Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Cardinals vs. Nogales Nobles
Winning is just a little bit easier when you make five more threes than your opponent, a fact the Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Cardinals proved on Thursday. They strolled past Nogales with points to spare, taking the game 61-42. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary.
Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary can attribute much of their success to Donovan Desha, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Trimel King Jr was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Several Nobles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaac Garcia, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Salas, who scored nine points.
Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Nogales, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary is on the road again on Friday and play against Harbor Teacher at 3:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Nogales and Rio Hondo Prep will face off at 12:00 p.m. on December 30, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Rio Hondo Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
