Jamarion Pegues Crosses Big Stat Threshold

Starting off the list is Oxford's Jamarion Pegues, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Pegues rushed for 190 yards and two touchdowns. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (121.7) per game. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.

The victory snapped Oxford's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-4 record. Pegues and Oxford are taking a road trip to face off against DeSoto Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

If history really does repeat itself, Perry might just drop another big game when he faces off against Oxford on Friday. Perry rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes the last time he and the Chargers duked it out back in October of 2023.

Drew Dean Delivers Best Performance of Season

Oxford was led to victory by Drew Dean, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Dean threw for 147 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown.

Jason Edwards Jr Turns in Season-Best Performance

Sadly, Jason Edwards Jr posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Horn Lake over Oxford on Friday. Edwards Jr threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 56 yards.

With the loss, Horn Lake broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2. Edwards Jr and Horn Lake will face off against Hernando at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lenden Fairley Sets Career High in Rushing Yards

Lenden Fairley produced his most outstanding game to date while leading DeSoto Central to the win on Friday. Fairley rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 65 yards.

For the season, Fairley has run in 5 touchdowns while averaging 85.8 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season, he had one rushing touchdown.
