Basketball Recap: Durham School of the Arts Takes a Loss

Durham School of the Arts was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Louisburg Warriors 59-31. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-11.

Durham School of the Arts' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Karrell Francis, who posted 11 points and five rebounds, and Tony McDonald, who earned five points and three steals. That's the most points Francis has posted since back in November of 2024.

Louisburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Alexander led the charge by putting up ten points. Another player making a difference was Johnathan Closs, who put up seven points and 11 boards.

Durham School of the Arts' defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Louisburg, their win bumped their record up to 7-13.

Durham School of the Arts has already played their next matchup (against Vance County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Louisburg will head out to face off against Carrboro at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
