Volleyball Recap: Meridian Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Meridian won the last time they faced Okaw Valley and things went their way on Monday too. The Hawks walked away with a 2-0 win over the Timberwolves.

Meridian easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-14.

Alyssa Meisenhelter paced Meridian's offense, picking up four kills. Meisenhelter got some help from Gigi Pramuk and her six assists. Amelia Flack controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Meridian's victory ended a seven-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 14-17. As for Okaw Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-23.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Meridian will challenge Maroa-Forsyth at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Okaw Valley, they will head out to challenge Cerro Gordo/Bement at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
