Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Forney). They claimed a resounding 59-27 win over the Royse City Bulldogs on the road. Given the Jackrabbits' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 408th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Nelson Peterson Jr, who rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes. Javian Osborne also helped out as he racked up 129 rushing yards.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Forney was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 307 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Strange also made 14 total tackles, which is notable because Forney is 2-1 when he posts at least three total tackles, but 1-2 otherwise. Although Royse City took the loss, they still got scores from Zavier Brown, Jamion Richardson, and Jammel Ward.

The victory got Forney back to even at 3-3. As for Royse City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Forney will challenge Longview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,071 yards in their previous games. As for Royse City, they will face off against Tyler Legacy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Royse City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 27.6 points per game this season.
