Football Recap: St. Pauls Skates Past Douglas Byrd with Ease

St. Pauls never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 48-0 win over the Douglas Byrd Eagles. That looming 48-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Yoshua McBryde and Jashon Carter. McBryde rushed for 175 yards and three TDs while Carter rushed for 178 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries. McBryde got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 98 yards.

St. Pauls was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 415 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

St. Pauls pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.4 points over those games. As for Douglas Byrd, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.
