Basketball Game Preview: Washington County Bulldogs vs. Citronelle Wildcats

The Washington County Bulldogs will face off against the Citronelle Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Washington County came up short against Chickasaw on Monday, falling 53-33. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Citronelle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost to Faith Academy on the road by a 47-32 margin. The Wildcats were down 39-19 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Washington County will need focus on slowing down Taishauna Moody, one of several Citronelle players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sha'Laya Cunningham, who had nine points.

Citronelle's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Washington County, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Washington County strolled past Citronelle in their previous matchup back in December of 2018 by a score of 38-21. Will Washington County repeat their success, or does Citronelle have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
