Soccer Game Preview: Southern Alamance vs. Person

The Southern Alamance Patriots will head out on the road to square off against the Person Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Southern Alamance has three straight victories, Person has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Southern Alamance's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Jordan-Matthews with a sharp 6-0 win. Southern Alamance might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Jordan-Matthews from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Cayla Shaw led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Person scored the most goals they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Oxford Prep by a score of 2-1. The match was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Person couldn't quite close it out.

Southern Alamance's victory bumped their record up to 8-2-1. As for Person, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Southern Alamance took their win against Person in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0. Does Southern Alamance have another victory up their sleeve, or will Person turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
