The biggest upset of the week belonged to Orange, who took down 712th ranked Orange, 30-22.
Ocean View moved up to 895 from 940 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Golden West. The Seahawks were able to make move up by defeating the Panthers 30-22.
Segerstrom's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Raymond Avalos threw for 230 and one touchdown and Chris Nieto had 98 yards receiving. On the ground Justin Young chipped in 58 yards. Luis Manzo helped Segerstrom's passing attack out by catching two balls for 54 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Avalos and David Perkins the Jaguars have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Avalos leads the league in passing with 568 yards, while Perkins has rushed for 1382 yards this season. Ocean View's Reo Washington leads the league in receiving yards with 177 on 15 catches.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Segerstrom takes on second place Westminster. Segerstrom defeated Santa Ana last week, while Westminster beat Loara.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Mike Maceranka's team takes on the Lions. The Jaguars have allowed 144 points this season, while Westminster has given up 163. Segerstrom allowed 9 points last week as it bested the Saints.
Ted Mcmillen's team extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Saxons, 42-20. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Lions.
