The Trinity Classical Academy Knights will venture away from home to take on the Canyon Cowboys at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
Trinity Classical Academy easily dispatched Flintridge Prep on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Trinity Classical Academy fell just short of Castaic by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday. The loss was the Knights' first of the season.
Trinity Classical Academy got a good showing from Maddox Rice, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Rice posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
At the plate, Trinity Classical Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Carlson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Canyon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 13-2 margin over Viewpoint on Tuesday. Considering the Cowboys' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Will Peck was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Peck was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Brody Bayliss was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Phillip Curiel was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Canyon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .587. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Canyon's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Trinity Classical Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

It's a different story for Canyon, though, as they've only got 0 of their hits this season. Will they be able to contain Trinity Classical Academy's hitters?
