Basketball Recap: Hailey Roberts Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat KIPP Legacy

There's no place like home for Traders Point Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the KIPP Legacy Lions by a score of 57-44 on Tuesday. Traders Point Christian's win was all the more impressive since the Lions were averaging only 26.81 points allowed on the season.

Traders Point Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hailey Roberts led the charge by putting up 12 points along with five assists and five steals. With that strong performance, Roberts is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Kira Berry was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Roberts wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Traders Point Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, KIPP Legacy still got an impressive performance from Nadiya Abdullah, who posted 27 points. Those 27 points gave Abdullah a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alicia Crawford, who earned 12 points.

Traders Point Christian pushed their record up to 5-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for KIPP Legacy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
