Softball Recap: Canon City Tigers vs. Coronado Cougars        
        
		
             Canon City didn't have done well against Coronado recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Thursday. The Canon City Tigers came out on top against the Coronado Cougars by a score of  10-7. The  victory was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on three straight.
  Khloe Weise made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and six unearned) runs off   12  hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in nine consecutive pitching appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring four  runs while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances.
 In other batting news, Canon City got a big performance out of  Kristyn Barnes, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-5.  Addison Arnold was another key player,  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances with three  RBI.
 Canon City  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're  hit total in three consecutive  contests.
 Canon City has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five games,  which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record  this season. As for Coronado, they dropped their record down to 6-9 with that  loss, which was their third straight  at home.
 Canon City will head out to  take on Palmer  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Canon City knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  squad has finished with ten run or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Palmer likes a good challenge. As for Coronado, they will welcome Sand Creek  at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
