After a string of four wins, Brookfield Central's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Franklin Sabers by a score of 3-2. The matchup marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Sasha Benjamins made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Lucy Fahrenholz also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Brookfield Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Franklin, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brookfield Central will host Wauwatosa East at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Franklin, they will take on Racine Case at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.7 runs per game on average), something the Sabers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
