Basketball Recap: Hobbton Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Nashon Kilkenny and Amir Tate

If Hobbton was feeling good fresh off their 48-25 takedown of Clinton last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hobbton Wildcats took a 53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Midway Raiders on Wednesday. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Hobbton's loss came despite strong showings from Amir Tate and Nashon Kilkenny. Tate posted 16 points, while Kilkenny put up 13 points. The dominant performance gave Kilkenny a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Deonte Darden, who had nine points.

Hobbton now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Midway, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Hobbton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-33 win against Jones on the 6th. As for Midway, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-65 victory against Spring Creek on the 9th.
