Softball Recap: West Orange Takes a Loss

West Orange had lost four straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 11-6 to make it five. They came up short against the Glen Ridge Ridgers, falling 10-4. The Mountaineers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ridgers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Glen Ridge, they now have a winning record of 8-7. The result was nothing new for the Ridgers, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

For Glen Ridge's part, Siri ?Socks? Krabbe made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over 4.2 innings pitched. Krabbe has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, Catie ?Chicken Nugget? Buntrock was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Anne ?Peanut? Doud was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Orange will challenge Hackensack at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Glen Ridge, they will square off against Bayonne at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
