Softball Recap: Morgan Comes Up Short

Morgan started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Tampa Bay Tech. They came up short against the Titans on Saturday, falling 15-5.

BELLA SMITH was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. SMITH was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, TALIYAH HOPKINS and KYRA SMITH did some serious damage despite the final result: HOPKINS got on base in five of her six plate appearances with two doubles, while KYRA went 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Morgan's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Tampa Bay Tech, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Morgan will square off against Spoto at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tampa Bay Tech, they will face off against Lennard at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Longhorns have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
