After losing to Bessemer Academy the last time they met, Southern Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cougars simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Rebels 38-8. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won three contests by 30 points or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Southern Academy and bumps their season record up to 4-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.0 points over those games. As for Bessemer Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southern Academy will challenge Fort Dale Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bessemer Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
