Volleyball Recap: Wamego Gets the Win

Wamego hadn't done well against Basehor-Linwood recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Red Raiders walked away with a 2-0 win over the Bobcats. This was payback for the Red Raiders, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Wamego never let Basehor-Linwood on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-22.

Ryann Langvardt paced Wamego's offense, picking up six kills. Langvardt got some help from Kennedy Flynn and her nine assists. Lexi Hecht controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Wamego's victory bumped their record up to 14-16. As for Basehor-Linwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11-2.

Coincidentally, Wamego and Basehor-Linwood will both be playing Silver Lake the next time they take the court. The Red Raiders will head out to face the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Bobcats will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
