Soccer Recap: Chino Comes Up Short

Chino was the 4-2 winner over Chaffey when they last played one another on January 10th, but their luck changed this time around. The Chino Cowboys fell just short of the Chaffey Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cowboys came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Tigers are ranked 697th).

This is the second loss in a row for Chino and nudges their season record down to 6-8-6. As for Chaffey, their victory bumped their record up to 3-13-4.

Chino will square off against Don Lugo at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Chino is facing Don Lugo at the right time seeing as Don Lugo is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Chaffey, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Chaffey challenge the Diamond Ranch at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Chaffey's last seven matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
