Volleyball Game Preview: The Academy Wildcats vs. Peak to Peak Pumas + How To Watch

The Academy Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Peak to Peak Pumas at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, The Academy came up short against Prospect Ridge Academy and fell 3-1. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The Academy might've lost, but they sure made Prospect Ridge Academy work for the win: two sets went to 30 points or more. The match finished with set scores of 29-31, 25-23, 25-15, 32-30.

The Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Honor Montoya, who had 16 digs and two assists, and Jaelyn Farmer, who had 15 digs and six kills. Farmer has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last six times she's played.

Meanwhile, Peak to Peak suffered their biggest defeat since September 11th on Thursday. They came up short against Forge Christian, falling 3-0.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Forge Christian scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-19, 25-19.

The Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Peak to Peak, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

The Academy skirted past Peak to Peak 3-2 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
