Softball Recap: Star City Sets Scoring Season-High Against Rison

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Star City). Everything went their way against the Rison Wildcats on Thursday as they made off with an 18-4 win. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Star City's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Rison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Star City will look to defend their home field on Friday against Watson Chapel at 5:00 p.m. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.69 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rison, they will head out on the road to square off against Drew Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
