Basketball Recap: Northwest Halifax Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against John Paul II Catholic, Northwest Halifax was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Southeast Halifax Trojans by a score of 53-46. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 53-24 two weeks ago.

Southeast Halifax's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alarrah Powell, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Ja'Niyla Pierce, who earned 15 points and seven rebounds.

Northwest Halifax's record now sits at 4-5. As for Southeast Halifax, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Northwest Halifax will take on Rocky Mount Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Halifax is facing Rocky Mount Prep at the right time seeing as Rocky Mount Prep is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Southeast Halifax, they will venture away from home to challenge North Edgecombe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
