Baseball Recap: Merryville Takes a Loss

Merryville lost against Grand Lake back in April of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers came up short against the Hornets, falling 23-6. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jerimaya Robinson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. He also brought in three RBI, which is notable because Merryville is 2-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 5-7 otherwise. Lucas Tucker also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Merryville now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Grand Lake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Grand Lake will take on Sam Houston at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Merryville will be paying especially close attention to the Hornets' contest: after the Hornets faces off against the Broncos, they'll take on Merryville again at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
