Basketball Game Preview: Hudson Cobras vs. Cypress Creek Coyotes

Hudson and Cypress Creek are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Hudson Cobras will take on the Cypress Creek Coyotes in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hudson is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

On Friday, Hudson lost to Bishop McLaughlin Catholic on the road by a 69-52 margin. While losing is never fun, the Cobras can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 607th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 209th).

Meanwhile, Cypress Creek hadn't done well against Land O' Lakes recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Cypress Creek secured a 56-51 W over Land O' Lakes. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Coyotes as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Hudson's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Cypress Creek, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Hudson came up short against Cypress Creek when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 49-36. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cypress Creek's Manuel Castro, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards.
