Baseball Recap: Charleston Comes Up Short

Charleston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 19-2 to the Riverside Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-2 last Tuesday.

Charleston's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Riverside, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Leflore County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.33 runs per game on average), something Charleston will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Riverside, they will challenge Coahoma County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Red Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.5 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
