Softball Game Preview: Choctawhatchee Indians vs. Walton Braves

The Choctawhatchee Indians are taking a road trip to take on the Walton Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Choctawhatchee is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Choctawhatchee fell victim to Arnold and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Marlins, falling 16-0.

Meanwhile, Walton beat Freeport 4-1 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Braves.

Bella Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alayah Dalton was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Choctawhatchee's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Walton, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.

Choctawhatchee beat Walton 6-2 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
