Basketball Recap: McQueen Comes Up Short

McQueen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 67-56 to the Reno Huskies. The Lancers lost against the Huskies in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 74-38 score last time.

Despite the loss, McQueen still got an impressive performance from Alex Hancock, who went 8 for 10 en route to 20 points and four steals. That's the most points Hancock has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alex Grush, who posted four points and six steals.

Eric Platz was nothing short of spectacular for Reno: he went 9 of 16 on his way to 22 points and eight rebounds. Johnavin Evans was another key player, putting up 12 points along with six boards and five steals.

McQueen's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Reno, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.

McQueen has already played their next contest (against Douglas), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Reno has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Galena.
