Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Leadership Academy Lions vs. Saucon Valley Panthers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Lincoln Leadership Academy Lions face off against the Saucon Valley Panthers at 6:45 p.m. on Monday... Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Lincoln Leadership Academy sitting on ten straight victories and Saucon Valley on six.

On Saturday, everything came up roses for Lincoln Leadership Academy against Maritime Academy Charter as the squad secured an 82-49 win. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Saucon Valley). They blew past Northern Lehigh 81-61 on Friday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 612th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Saucon Valley's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Lincoln Leadership Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.

Lincoln Leadership Academy might still be hurting after the 74-49 defeat they got from Saucon Valley in their previous meeting back in January of 2017. Can Lincoln Leadership Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
