Danville lost to Armstrong back in April of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Vikings skirted past the Trojans 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since May 15, 2024.

Deana Linares spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Danville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Scaggs, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. Ka'Leah Bellik also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

The victory got Danville back to even at 4-4. As for Armstrong, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Danville will take on Oakwood at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Armstrong, they have already played their next matchup, a 12-3 win against Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] on the 11th.
