Baseball Game Preview: Middleton Tigers vs. Clearwater Tornadoes

The Middleton Tigers will face off against the Clearwater Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Middleton will be strutting in after a win while Clearwater will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Middleton turned things around against Freedom on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 7-4.

Darrion Marchman was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Tate Hancock, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Clearwater fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Palm Harbor University on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hurricanes by a score of 11-10. The Tornadoes haven't had much luck with the Hurricanes recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Clearwater saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty Woodring, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Jackson King was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Even though they lost, Clearwater kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Clearwater's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Middleton, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-9.
