Basketball Game Preview: Grant Cougars vs. Tioga Indians

Grant is 1-9 against Tioga since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Grant Cougars will look to defend their home court against the Tioga Indians at 7:00 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 76-40, which was the final score in Grant's tilt against Franklin Parish on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Patriots are ranked 83rd).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from L Fletcher, who posted nine points. R Searcy was another key player, putting up six points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Tioga beat Rapides 60-55 on Monday.

Tioga is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for Grant, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.
