Soccer Recap: KIPP Global Comes Up Short

KIPP Global came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 5-2 to the Independence Academy Lions. While losing is never fun, KIPP Global can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 181st, while Independence Academy are ranked 32nd).

KIPP Global has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Independence Academy, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Looking ahead, KIPP Global will venture away from home to square off against Cane Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Independence Academy, they will welcome Pearl-Cohn at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Independence Academy will be up against Pearl-Cohn's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.8 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
