Baseball Recap: High Tech SD Has No Trouble Against Bonsall

The High Tech SD Storm got the win against the Bonsall Legionnaires on Monday by a conclusive 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Storm, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Nano Acevedo made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of High Tech SD's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-9 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Landon Carroll was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Izo Kobayashi was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for High Tech SD and bumps their season record up to 11-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Bonsall, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Looking ahead, High Tech SD will be playing at home against Kearny at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bonsall, they will welcome Mountain Empire at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
