Baseball Game Preview: Cherry Creek Bruins vs. Arapahoe Warriors

The Cherry Creek Bruins will take on the Arapahoe Warriors at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Cherry Creek is coming into the match hot, having won their last 13 games.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Cherry Creek nor Cherokee Trail made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Bruins came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 6-3.

Arapahoe came out on top against Smoky Hill on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Warriors took their game against the Buffaloes 6-1. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Buffaloes: they've now won four in a row.

Jackson Cadwallader looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Arapahoe saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cain Gostenik, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. Another was Brady Syers, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Cherry Creek's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Arapahoe, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
