Basketball Game Preview: Lake Central Indians vs. Lighthouse College Prep Academy Lions

Lake Central is on a five-game streak of home losses, Lighthouse College Prep Academy a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Lake Central Indians will welcome the Lighthouse College Prep Academy Lions at 7:00 p.m. Lake Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.

Lake Central is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Portage on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lake Central was outmatched by Portage and fell 77-49. While losing is never fun, Lake Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Portage is ranked 57th).

Despite their loss, Lake Central saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Zachary Greene, who went 6 for 15 en route to 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. Greene also posted two blocks, marking his first of the season. Spencer Gail was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Lighthouse College Prep Academy came up short against Harlan on Wednesday and fell 55-43.

Lake Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Lighthouse College Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.

Everything went Lake Central's way against Lighthouse College Prep Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, as Lake Central made off with a 58-34 victory.
