The third road game was the charm for Anderson County, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They never let the Hixson Wildcats get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Saturday. The Mavericks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.
Addison Sharp looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Harlee Taylor was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Thurman, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Anderson County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Anderson County's record is now 7-8. As for Hixson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-1.
Coming up, Anderson County will take on East Hamilton in a tournament on Saturday. The Hurricanes will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Mavericks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hixson, they will challenge Boyd-Buchanan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Buccaneers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
