Basketball Game Preview: Shelby County Rockets vs. Bullitt Central Cougars

The Shelby County Rockets just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Bullitt Central Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Shelby County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.

Shelby County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Western Hills with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 88-73.

Meanwhile, Bullitt Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 69-51 bruising from North Bullitt. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Eagles are ranked 110th).

Shelby County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-20 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for Bullitt Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-19.

Shelby County strolled past Bullitt Central in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 59-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shelby County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
