Recap: Hilltop Christian Chargers vs. Wilson Christian Academy Chargers
If the Hilltop Christian Chargers were riding high off their 39-19 takedown of the Southside Christian Warriors last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Hilltop Christian fell just short of Wilson Christian Academy by a score of 28-26. While losing is never fun, Hilltop Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while Wilson Christian Academy is ranked 196th).
Despite the loss, Hilltop Christian still got an impressive performance from Meleah Bell, who scored ten points. That was a full 38.5% of Hilltop Christian's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Hilltop Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Wilson Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hilltop Christian will take on Oak Forest at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Oak Forest's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so Hilltop Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Wilson Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bethel Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Bethel Christian Academy is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
