Baseball Recap: Arkansas City Victorious

Arkansas City never let their opponents score on Friday. They came out on top against the El Dorado Wildcats by a score of 5-0. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

Jordey Pierce made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Arkansas City is 4-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-9 otherwise. Pierce was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Daxton Weakley was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Teague Munson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Arkansas City hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as El Dorado struck out 15 times.

The win made it two in a row for Arkansas City and bumps their season record up to 8-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for El Dorado, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-13.

Arkansas City will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair will be back at it again later today.
